Domestic and family violence can involve a range of behaviours and patterns that restrict another person’s safety, freedom and independence.
Domestic and family violence can take many forms. It may involve physical or sexual violence, threats, emotional abuse, financial abuse, social isolation, technology-facilitated abuse, damage to property and other behaviours that undermine another person’s safety, freedom or independence.
Coercive control is a pattern of abusive behaviour used to dominate, intimidate, isolate or frighten another person. It can include threats, humiliation, monitoring, financial control and other tactics that create fear and restrict autonomy.
Immersive Change is focused on supporting trained practitioners to help participants recognise these patterns, understand their impact and practise safer, more respectful responses. The program is intended to complement established domestic and family violence interventions, not replace specialist assessment, treatment or victim-survivor support.
